"A personal favorite of mine! Best Mexican in the neighborhood. The decor is kitschy fun with a lot of emphasis on George W. Bush's one-time visit to the restaurant. The food is always delicious. I love their salsa because it has a nice smoky flavor."
- Mallory M.
"Two of my coworkers have continuously talked about this place and how amazing it is. I always thought they were exaggerating. They were not. They highly recommended the steak fajitas so I went with that. Was not disappointed at all! I do not know what seasoning they put on their steak, but it is addicting."

"The staff is great here. If you have kids they have plenty of options, provide crayons and a color place mat and virgin smoothies. Plus, most if not all servers are great about bringing out the kids food before the adults which can really make the night."
"The best in the Arlington area! Servings are a great size at a reasonable price! Highly recommend." 5/06/2015

"El Paso consistently delivers! That's why we keep coming back. The Super Fajitas are, well, SUPER! And margaritas on a Monday are always tasty and are my favorite in town. The salsa is always fresh and enriches the entire El Paso Experience." 4/27/2015

"The Mixed Guanaca Platter gives me life! The skirt steak is cooked perfectly: juicy, tender, and flavorful with a nice sear on the outside. It comes with pico de gallo and guacamole, both complement the steak nicely. The homemade corn tortilla will make you question any store-bought tortillas in your life. The rice and beans are a nice fixture, and the plantains are the real MVP. I enjoyed coming to this restaurant in the past, but the Mixed Guanaca Platter is a game changer! I visit Arlington a couple times a month from southern Virginia, and no trip is complete without coming here. I can't wait until the next feast!"

"Good food and good prices. Some days the staff can be slow to take and deliver your order, but it's a neighborhood staple we love going to."

"This place has a really nice atmosphere. The food is very fast to be made so if you are on a time crunch this is a good place. I love the burritos, so much food I can barely finish one. Good stuff!"

"When my wife and I want Mexican food, this is where we go. Some of the best Tex-Mex and the DC area."
- Alix Pereira
"If you are looking for some good authentic Mexican, this is a spot to hit. They have some salvadoreon items as well. My recommendations are the pupusas, chili con queso, steak fajitas, enchiladas, and margaritas."

"I was not expecting to even find a Mexican Restaurant in Arlington and it was complete with a mariachi band. We got there on Friday around 5:30 and got seated right away. I ordered the chicken fajitas and had enough for a 2nd meal the following day. The chicken was not dried out either. Our server was fantastic. We had a golden margarita which was also yummy. The location was within walking distance of where we were staying. Loved that atmosphere. A very nice surprise. Thank you, El Paso!!!!!"
"This is one of the best places to have an authentic Mexican food. They offer great vegetarian options besides delicious non-vegetarian ones at a decent price. The cafe is normally full but the wait is no longer than 10 minutes. They have great drink options too!"

“Barry and Kim Trotz figured familiarity could guide their youngest child through the biggest change of his life, so first they made sure to find 13-year-old Nolan a decent Tex-Mex restaurant. On the eve of Washington Capitals training camp, the final day of the offseason, the family dined at El Paso Café in Arlington, where Nolan had grown to love the salsa during their regular stops since moving here this summer.”- (September 23, 2014)

“The buzz: Open since 1992, this friendly neighborhood spot sticks to the Tex-Mex basics and handles them well. Families, happy-hour hunters and fans of spicy food come here for the large platters of chile-packed delicacies. The food is happily above-average, but after a margarita or two, you may not even pay attention.
On your plate: Portions are generous and diverse. Giant chimichangas reach beyond standard fillings of chicken and beef to include a crab and shrimp version, while tacos al carbon, flautas and the platters provide fare to feed most diners for at least two days. Crisp and soft tacos, enchiladas, chile rellenos and burritos are also available a la carte for those who like to mix and match. Desserts are fairly standard, with tres leches cake and a banana cheesecake-filled pastry among the few choices.
Nice to know: There's a lengthy list of specialty margaritas and plenty of tequilas to choose from, so find a designated driver and brace yourself for some potent liquid accompaniments to the meal. Many nights feature the music of a mariachi band."
